    Shoplifting And A Juvenile Record
45 years ago at the age of 14 I was picked up for shoplifting I don't remember much except I was taken to the police station for my parents to come pick me up. I was not fingerprinted or fined I did have to go before a judge with my father for a long lecture!!! there was no probation or anything. My question is I'm applying for a job that requires a criminal background check and I was wandering if that would show up? I have never had any other charges as a juvenile or adult. I live in Ohio

    Thank you

Your record as a minor (especially a 40 year old record) is not likely to come up. The traditional background check only checks your adult record and tends to only go 10 years or so.

I really doubt you have anything to worry about.
