Can Backround Checks See Police Reports
Hi, I was wondering what type of info a thorough backround check, for example medical schools', can get. I got convicted with a class c misdemeanor 'possession drug paraphernalia' in texas about 2 years ago. But I think the police report said it was just a small piece of a joint. Can that easily be obtained from my criminal history?

    thanks

It's according to how thorough of a background check is done - they are all not the same. If they do a criminal background check, it will probably show up.

I am going to guess that for this particular background check, they are not going to request a copy of a police report. People requesting actual reports and discoveries tend to be attorneys, other law enforcement, and regulatory agencies. For example, I applied for a position with a casino that required me to be registered with the NV Gaming Board. The NV Gaming Board obtained the full discovery/report, but the casino just saw my criminal record. I don't know who else has an explicit "right" to have it other than law enforcement, attorneys, and regulatory agencies... someone else might.
