Afraid To Go To Diversion

OK i super scared to go to diverson im 15 and from minnesota the hennepin county(twin cities) area. i stole 2 shirt and was caught red handed leaving a von maur. the were under 500 buck and i got a misdomenor citation by a cop. i got banned from the whole mall for 3 years and i payed a civil fee of 50 buck for the store.


i am not going to court but this place to take classes or community service but i heard they can set up a court date if they want.

its called diverson but i heard that the lady wants to hear my side of the story and i have no trustworthy adults. i have a ride their but no lawyer?

You should go to the diverson program and complete it. You are very fortunate that your civil demand was only 50 bucks. You should have a lawyer. At the bear minimum you should have a parent and I doubt anyone will talk to you without one as you are a minor.
A diversion program is a good thing for you. Comply with all requests as they can set up a court date. You say that you have no "trustworthy adults" but you were the one caught stealing and have required court appearance. In the eyes of the person who is going to determine your future, you are going to appear as the one who can't be trusted. Be honest and don't screw up a wonderful opportunity to keep this mistake from haunting you for a long time.

Outside of "not guilty" Diversion is the best possible outcome be thankful
