I am paying child support already, but never received a DNA test. I was never married and am sure that my 2 year old daughter is not mine. I have only seen my daughter twice and do not live in the same state. I was in the military when this all happened. How do I get the court to give me a DNA test. I do not have the 3500.00 for a retainer plus I am in school. Is there any help for me, or will i never know the truth? My daughters mother will not allow me to get a DNA test.
Have you contacted the child support office to discuss contesting paternity? To the best of my knowledge, the child's mother cannot deny the child support agency if they request paternity testing.
In what state does the child live? One usually needs to contest paternity before the child reaches a certain age. I suspect the age varies from state to state, however.
This is a deal considering paying x amount of money every month for the next 16 years. Oh and when you finish school and get a decent paying job, she will not hesitate to take you back to court to get an increase in support payments.Quote:

You do not need CSEA, you need a lawyer-a good one.Some states have time limit for non/paternity actions.
The child lives in Texas. i have contacted child enforcement agency, they said i needed to retain a lawyer to contest it. I have reading about a new House Bill that allows me to take a DNA test and for it to hold up in court.
