Emancipation In The State Of Colorado.
Well, here's my story. My mother is a recovering alcoholic, my father is dead, and my step father skipped out on us a few years ago. All of that has occured during the last 2 1/2 years, along with some other things. My mother and I are constantly argueing and have been known to go back and forth with some...not so nice words. I've also been diagnosed with Chronic Depression, anxiety disorder, and A.D.D . I can't take any medication due to the negative effects of one medication on the other two disorders. The side-effects of all these things frustrate her and lead to more arguements. And basicaly, I don't feel like living here, under all the added pressure she puts on me, makes for a healthy environment.
My solution to this problem is emancipation. In April, once I turn 14, I plan on getting a job and then going to the court house and speaking to a judge about emancipation. My concern is if the judge will find this to be a probable cause for emancipation. I've thought this out carefuly and even have an idea of where I would like to live, the job I'd be working to pay off the bills, how this would go along with school. I just need to know if I'm missing any key parts to this, and if there's any way that this could come out well.
Thanks for your time.

Re: Emancipation In The State Of Colorado.
The key part that you are missing is that a 14 year old cannot be emancipated in any state except California, and only in extremely rare cases there.

Colorado Code 19-1-103. Definitions
(45) "Emancipated juvenile", as used in section 19-2-511, means a juvenile over fifteen years of age and under eighteen years of age who has, with the real or apparent assent of the juvenile's parents, demonstrated independence from the juvenile's parents in matters of care, custody, and earnings. The term may include, but shall not be limited to, any such juvenile who has the sole responsibility for the juvenile's own support, who is married, or who is in the military.
