    Understanding Statutory Rape Laws In Texas
    my boyfriend and i are exactly seven months, two weeks and four days apart. he turns 17 on january 28th and i turn 16 july 10th, and we have an intamite relationship.if my family wanted to press charges on him could they and if so what would he be charged with?? i just dont want him to get into trouble because my uncle got into trouble and is in jail for 15 years becasue he was 18 and his girlfriend at the time was 16 and her parents pressed charges. so please, give me as much description as possible!

    They could not do anything even if they wanted to. Texas has a three year romeo clause. As long as the actor is not more than three years older than than the victim, and she consents, the relationship is legal.

    As for you uncle, he must have been arrested BEFORE the law went into effect.
