Want To Move - Father Lives Long Distance
Hi. I filed my intent to move in Dec, and he objected. I was told the final court date would be Jan, and now it is May. I have a new job, new daycare, and new reantal set up for Feb. Now it is a mess with the delayed court date.

I am moving from FL to PA. My son's father lives in GA 5 hours away. I am wondering if I even needed his consent to move? Everything I read says if intending to move more than 50 miles out of the same city???

We were never married, never lived together. He left TX when I was pregnant. Our son is 17 months now. I don't see how he can have such control? He does not live in the same area. We have no legal order previously (custody, child support) but it is now in the works.

He does visit him each month. He use to fly to TX and now drives to FL. He does pay support. I will do nothing to prevent a relationship between them. I just want to move where my family is.

Do I really need to file an intent when he already lives so far away?

GA to FL is much different that GA to PA (5 hours as opposed to a billion hours)
He has so much control because you created a life with him, and now you want him to chase you around the country. He has just as much right to the child as you :)
Maybe if you or your family were willing to pay his travel expenses, he would let you move?
And for what it's worth, the courts may let you move anyway
