Statute Of Limitations On Statutory Rape In Texas
I am 23, baby's father is 28. We have a 6 year old. We live in Texas.
I was 16, and he was 21 when I got pregnant. I was 15, and he was 20 when we first started having sex.
How long do I have to press charges on him for this?
Obviously there is proof that it happened, in our six year old.
Help? :]
Re: Statute Of Limitations.
Explain why the long wait? Wait let me guess you were together and in love but the love went sour now your mad and want to charge him.
Re: Statute Of Limitations.
Did your parents not pursue this at the time? Did doctors/hospital not report your under-age pregnancy to social services, and if so, what was that outcome?
Re: Statute Of Limitations
They were by law required to. The Doctors not parents

Re: Statute Of Limitations On Statutory Rape In Texas
My guess is that someone is not paying child support...
If they were married (with the consent of the parents) then the doctors would not have to report it to DFACS/DHHS. My guess, with the babydaddy comment is that they are not married. Are your other two kids with him? (for the lawyers - Does Texas have a common law marriage law? Does it allow for exoneration for prior acts with a minor who then becomes a common law spouse?)
