    Rent Payments and Roommate Problems
I went through a rough spot in my life. My daughters dad passed away. I lost my car and job. My roommate offered to help while I got on my feet. She paid for rent for 3 months. I got a job and paid everything back and am now able to keep up on my end. My room mate turned into a party animal and wants to live a party life and want my daughter and i to move out. I found the place and we went in to this together this is my home. my question is can the landlord evict me and choose sides against me and kick me out. I am on the lease and into this just as much as her. but she had to pay out for me the last three months although I paid it back to her. It may look like I have not been paying at all, but I paid him personally this month. Is their anything I can do if this turns to the worst and I get evicted?

Check your lease agreement very carefully.

If you are both listed on the same lease, rather than on two separate leases, your roommate will just have to suck it up. She doesn't have standing to apply the boot to your backside.

You want to move out, so why are you worried about being kicked out?

Ordinarily, your lease would make you jointly responsible for rent and your landlord would have no interest in how you and your roommate split the rent bill.
