Reentry After Deportation
I was deported from OH in 1999 and was sent back to my home country in Africa. I was convicted of a felony and spent one year in prison, prior to my deportation back to Africa. Now it has been almost ten years and I wanted to know what to do to come back to the USA. I have an eleven year old daughter, who is a US citizen, and I want to be with her.
I am currently working and living in Germany for the past three years. Should I get an attorney here or in America? Is this a costly venture?
Re: Reentry After Deportation
After your period of ineligibility is over, you are eligible to return to the United States. That doesn't mean you'll get in - it means you can try.
Once you are again eligible, you can apply for a visa and see if you are approved. I am not sure what visa you would be hoping to obtain.

Mosa,
I have just read your case, sorry to her about your child. Have you had any news yet? Did you find an attorney? I had a friend in your case but I have lost contact with him. But my friend is in contact with his brother. If you need any info Ii could ask for you.
