Eligibility For Annulment

Hello,

I would like to know if I am able to file for anullment. My soon to be ex husband lied on our marriage certificate. He said he was never married before, but he was. We have been married for 5 years. Is there a chance I can do this? If not what is the best way to protect myself from his financial responsibilities? He picked up and left the country and no contact. Thank you I have a call into a paralegal to help me, but thought I'd research this possibilty some. He is not a citizen of the US, not sure if this will help me at all.

What is the name of your state, please. Laws vary from state to state & there is usally a time limit.

After five years your best option is to file for a divorce. Since he is out of the country the court will probably allow service by publication if you have no idea of his location.
