Violation on "Courtesy Probation" Please Help
My husban and I moved to PA while he was on Probation in Florida. It took 8 months for the paperwork to go through the proper channels and for him to be accepted here. He was placed on 5 year probation and has been out of trouble for almost 3 years. He was up for early termination in January after 3 years because he has completed all his community service and paid all restitution. He violated by threatening someone which in itself is not a serious charge. In fact he isn't even charged with anything except VOP. The problem is that he was not given any kind of bond hearing or arraignment because he is not on PA probation and Florida needs to decide what to do with him. I was told on Friday that the case needs to go through the Capitol here, then through Interstate (the same channel as when we were trying to move here) and toa FL judge. They will decide wheather or not to put him in prison for the rest of the 5 years, or to not persue it any further. This could take MONTHS! Our attorney, who I found out is a complete joke, is going to try to get the case before a FL judge sooner. The attorney is incompetent. I had to remind him of facts about hte case that were said in the courtroom because he "did not recall them" andtold me this would be no problem a week ago. Now it's a mess. And he obviously doesn't know what he is doing. But I cannot afford another attorney at this point, $4500 later. Does anyone know anything about courtesy probation or what else we can do? Or maybe what Florida will do with this kind of case? How long he will be away for?
Please help. Hubby is in jail for 2 weeks so far and the kids are hysterical. I have had to quit school and we have lost almost everything!

    Nothing yet
No changes yet. It's been a month. Trying to find a loophole. The attorney has said he's done all he can and to just pray that the cards fall where we want.
If anybody has any suggestions or information, please help.
