    Help With California Emancipation
Pretty much, to make the story short, my dad has become abusive and an alcoholic. He kicked me out of my house about a month and a half ago, maybe? I was doing fine until he called the cops (even though he kicked me out and made no attempt to contact me) and the cops came and got me, talked to me and told me to get serious about trying to get emancipated because my living situation wasnt working out with my dad, but it wasnt working with me not living at home, because my dad is afraid Ill go kill someone or something and he will be held responsible. He wants me to move out, but in a legal manner. I want to get emancipated so I can actually be someone. My mom died of cancer when I was 14, so I want to help with finding a cure for cancer, and I want to be a pyschologist or councillor, specializing in kids who have lost parents. The problem is everytime I get kicked out, I cant go to school because my dad calls the school and says Im a run away so I wont be in. Im 17, btw. I used to be kind of a screw up, ill admit it. But i have done my best to turn my life around. But theres only so much I can do in this situation, you know? Can someone help? My main problem is that I cant get a job, because he keeps kicking me out and saying im a run away, and now the school wont give me a work permit. I do know, however, that at the point of emancipation, I get alot of money from Social Security due to my moms death.

    Help? Please?

To get a declaration of emancipation, you have to prove ALL of these things:
    • You are at least 14 years old.
    • You don't want to live with your parents. Your parents don't mind if you move out.
    • You can handle your own money.
    • You have a legal way to make money.
    • Emancipation would be good for you.
