Son With A Drinking Problem In Jail For Assault

My son is in trouble again for what I believe is about his forth assault in 7 years. He is sitting in jail tonight for assaulting his live in girlfriend over the weekend. He is due to go to court for a resent DUI and driving with out a license. Now this ! What I would like to know is if he is not bailed out and ends up serving some time in jail, will the time he sets in jail count for time served. Also he has a job and will he be able to have job release for his employment, he also has child support he has to pay and needs a pay check... My son Jon is a good young man with a very bad drinking problem... Any information with Nebraska Law will be greatly appreciated . Thank you . Mom: mad:

I will tell you that repeated violent behavior is a definate red flag...

Also he goes to court tomorrow to face the Judge, and he will have to get a self appointed attorney because he is a poor man, will this hurt him and if some of his past assaults was dropped will this still hurt his case. Thanks again.. Mom

If the only reason he is incarcerated is the pending charge, he can expect to get credit for time served.

I would like to ask if ether of you would know that when my son is released from jail what type of help can he get for his alcohol problem and is their any financial help for him if he can not afford to pay for any type of help. And as for when he has his court hearing should he let the court know that it is a alcohol problem that has altered his actions and how to go about showing the court that he needs help for this problem...
