Your H-1B doesn't authorize work on the side for a U.S.-based concern, even if you own it. I don't know of any reason, though, why you couldn't start a company in your nation of origin, and do work for that company.
DOL regulations require employers to inform the USCIS when they terminate an H-1B employee.
There's no official "grace period" following the termination of an H-1B visa. The USCIS has discretion to authorize a ten-day grace period, but generally speaking you should plan to pack up and leave before the end of your authorized stay.
