Drivers Licence and Plate Errors On A Ticket
I just recieved a very expensive speeding ticket in Texas.
I did not see a posted sign so I am going back to take a second look at the scene.
However, when looking at the ticket I noticed many errors, two of which I thought were significant.
First the hair and eye color (which were coppied from my drivers licence I thought) were obviously wrong (ie: I have blond hair, was listed as black)
Also incorrect was the state of my Tags and my drivers licence. Both listed as Texas, bot not Texas.
Will this hold any water if I contest the ticket? How will the offence be tied to my drivers licence if that is not correctly written?
Re: Drivers Licence and Plate Errors On A Ticket
Is your personal information on the ticket correct - name, address, etc.?
Here's the conundrum - if you contest the ticket on the basis of mistake, you run the risk that the court will permit it to be amended to include the correct information. If you pay the ticket, the odds are high that the violation will not be reported to your state (and most states will assess points based on an out-of-state speeding ticket).

Boy, do I ever agree with that! If it were me, I'd pay it and hope it goes no further than Texas. I think you'll be 'safe'.
