my friend turns 16 tomorrow, and she wants to get emancipated because her home life is horrible. her parents are VERY controlling. i just read that she will need to her parents consent? is this true? because they will not give it. thanks so much and please respond quickly.

Emancipation laws vary by state. What you friend will need to do depends upon where she lives.
we're in florida... if you do have to have the parents consent, is there any way around it?
