Virgina emancipation

ok i recently asked my long time g/f to marry me she said yes the prob is, is that she 17 (( iam 19)) well her parents fliped a lid and now iam no longe alowed to c her or talk to her and its just all blah i was just wondering whats out there that we can do she says shes not happy at all her parents are constintly bashing me telling her shes throwing her life away iam 19 i have my own car i make good money full time and i go to college everybody tells me that they completly over reacting .....there taking her to counciling which i think is bs but anyway whats out there that i can do??

The petition shall contain, in addition to the information required by § 16.1-262, the gender of the minor and, if the petitioner is not the minor, the name of the petitioner and the relationship of the petitioner to the minor.

Until she's emancipated or reaches the age of 18, her parents can legally, well, treat her like a child.

how hard is it to get this done like what is all envolved with it

how hard is this and where can we go to get this started there taking her to counciling for this cause there scared she will run away but i cant do that becasue i live in maryland and carring her across state line will screw me can anyone shed some more light on this

still in the dark about most of this and this is starting to drive us both up the wall

You would start the process by petitioning for emancipation. You can check with the court to see if there are standard form petitions available. If you have difficulty figuring out the process, consider using a lawyer.

ok well that makes sense so far get the petition and go from there but what kinda of stuff merits this here parent are just being extreamly controlling theve even started to bash me and my faimly idk they just expect her after 2 years and a engagment to forget about me completly she refuse :D but thats my babes but neway just go to the juvinile??court??and get a petiton for emancipaion and then ??what happens
