Restrictions While On Supervised House Arrest
My brother is on probation in NC. He is on supervised house arrest, but is allowed out of the house at certain times. I'm not sure if the terms were set by the judge or by his first PO, but he was/is allowed to leave the house between 6am - 9pm M-F and 6am - 7pm on weekends.

His new PO, however, shows up on some weekends and says he has to stay home all day, no matter what (can't go to church, can't go get some food, etc). My brother gets off at work at 5pm on weekdays, and the PO has called him a few different times and told him that he must go straight home after work, despite the "free" hours.

    Can the PO do that?

    Re: Is this legal?
If he is given the opportunity to leave home for work and nothing else, there are no "free hours". He needs to check the terms of his house arrest.

    Thanks.

What is the best way of doing that? Can he find this information online? I'm sure he could ask his PO, but I'm afraid that would just make him get stricter.

It may be in his court file. And, as you obviously recognize, he can ask his probation officer.
