Emancipating a Minor After Criminal Conduct
can i emancipate my son whom was in volved in atheft and was placed to live with his mother at the time his crime occured then he was sententenced to a home for teens and again in court he was supposed to be sent to camp adams till he was 18 which was in 7 months however he escaped from there 2 weeks ago and cant be found how he got out is way beyond comprehension it's a real lock down there!!however now they want myself and his mother to pay restitution for his theft and also pay child support to the camp in which the state dont even have him in custody nor can they apperently control him im done im at my whits end with this whole thing i wipe my hands of it all and whould like to know as my rights what can i do.
please help ps i live in crawford county in pennsylvania.can i just relinquish all my parental rights off tp his mother whom thinks she has all the answerers or do i emancipate him and be done with him?

Pennsylvania's emancipation policies vary by county. You may find this information and guide to each county's policy from the Juvenile Law Center to be helpful.
Unfortunately, I believe you will find that your son is not a suitable candidate for emancipation, and that there is no method (short of step-parent adoption) which is going to let you avoid your parental rights.
