Re: Emancipation in Arkansas
The Arkansas emancipation statute is narrow in its scope, and focuses primarily on your ability to manage assets and business interests, not to live independently.
Re: Emancipation in Arkansas
Is there any way to legally leave home and move across the country to where i was born. It is something that has been gnawing at me since about Christmas last year. I would like to see about my mother getting guardianship, because I assume the laws on Emancipation are different in Idaho. I can provide for myself and I know what it takes to run a house. But the main this is atleast getting back up north. Thanks for your help,
D
Re: Emancipation in Arkansas
You can try to get your parents' permission, but that would likely also involve finding a responsible adult in Idaho who would take you in.
Re: Emancipation in Arkansas
My mom lives in Idaho, but my dad doesn't want to let me leave because of legal problems I was starting to have. I was getting arrested and so he says it was the area and my family up there causing it. If I could get my mom to have guardianship of me do you know the Idaho emancipation laws?

Your way to ahead of yourself at this point. If your goal is Idaho then contact your Mother and talk to her about filing a petition to change custody. Or ask your Father to let you move in with Mom.
