Where you may be old enough to consent to sex you are not old enough to disobey your parents. If your parents forbid you to see him you cant! No you cant live with him you are not emancipated nor 18 years old. By the way this isnt myspace chat type in real words!

If your parents are ok with your dating your fine if the object they have the authority to forbid you from seeing him or even seek a protective order although that might be tough

I said it would be tough but parents can forbid you to see him and take whatever action they choose to prevent it. Even if they fail to get a prtoective order the attention your BF would get could prove harmful to his future. If parents dont approve wait the few months if its real it will last.

Your wrong you cannot live anywhere without parental consent. If you live with anyone without parental consent those persons can face legal problems. I told you the best solution wait the few months till your 18

In order to become emancipated in most states you need to be totally self supporting, have a job and be graduated from high school. It is very difficult for someone to become emancipated without those requirements. Just because you disagree with your parents about a boyfriend is not cause enough to sever your parent child relationship. Wait until your 18. If he still cares for you the way you care for him, he'll wait. And if he won't wait, just as soon as you get to keep him you might find out it wasn't worth the heartache you put your family through.:wallbang:

If a woman doesn't have crows feet or laugh lines, I don't date her. Yeah, I'm old.

I spent some time in Michigan many years ago. Michigan has been trying to change their consent laws this year. It would probably do him good to put a few dollars together and briefly talk with a criminal defense attorney regarding the statutory rape, age of consent laws, and ask if there are any age gap laws. I have read the code, but am not an attorney.

I was 17 and dated a 16 year old and had a mess of trouble over it when I turned 18. It was completely legal but her parents made it a nightmare. She moved out on her 18th birthday and there were a lot of things I could not do in life. I had to drop out of college to support us for one. Love her or not, some peopled and relationships change, people turn 21 and can drink, etc. We got married and divorced about 2 years later when I was 23 and she was 21.

I saw a good soldier face charges over this same thing about 9 years ago. The parents said no and he persisted to see her. In the state in which I lived she had to be over 16 and within 4 years of age. He was 20 and she was 16. The charges were eventually dropped by the DA when they got the birthdays sorted out, but his attorney told him it would ruin his military career. It also cost him about $5k, which was about 1/2 his yearly LES earnings after taxes.

I saw a high school guy in West Virginia that was 18 date a 15 year old and get in trouble from it when she was pregnant. What he didn't know was that she was also fooling around with another guy. The parent struck a deal with both guys - never talk to my daughter and sign away paternity rights. They raised the child as the daughters "sister". So, techically, she is her sister's mother. It's just one of those stories that is impossible to belived unless you knew the story. He talked to an attorney and was within the age gap laws, but could still be charged with other crimes AND it didn't prevent the parents from pressing charges. Needless to say that he or another guy have a kid that doesn't know about them.

If you love him you may strike a deal with your parents. They may be stupid old farts, but likely have a reason for disliking this guy, even if it is age. As you get older a 4 year age difference is less of an issue. It's better to have loved and lost than to not have loved at all.

A friend of mine was 22 and dated a 16 year old. The parents liked him and they now have the cutest little 2 year old (she's now 26 and he's 33). Technically, he commited statutory in the Commonwealth of Virginia. At the time the custodians had to press charges. Now Virginia has "witness" laws where the victim is no more than a witness and can't drop charges or requested they be dropped.

In the anecdotes I mentioned above the people were within their legal boundaries but still had a temporary living hell.
