How Can I Get Emancipated?
I'm 16 years old and living with my mom and we just moved to Ft. Myers, Florida. We moved from Savannah, Georgia where my father currently lives and where my parents were first divorced. I'm having a hard time moving here, because I've lived in Savannah all my life, and being moved out halfway through high school is absolutely straining on me. I'm currently employed and am making good grades in school just as I was in Savannah.
Unfortunately, my mother and I tend to fight a lot and it is putting a huge strain on our relationship. She has full custody of me, and I have asked her to willingly let me move back to Savannah with my father who is a perfectly capable parent. She has refused this, so I am trying to find another way for me to be able to make it back home.

can my father file it?
Nope. Just the person who has custody of you. You also have to prove to the judge that you can live on your own, without public or private assistance, and explain WHY you need to be emancipated. And, "I don't get along with my mom" doesn't cut it.
