Finding Forms for Expungements
My husband was convicted when he was 19. He was on a college campus, and forgot that he'd had his rifle in the trunk (that weekend, he'd gone out to the country with it). A radio was stolen on campus, so they'd called the police and were searching vehicles. The rifle was found in his trunk and he was arrested.
He was originally charged with Aggravated Assault with a Weapon by the Grand Prairie police dept. It was plead down to a misdemeanor charge. I found out recently that this has been what's been keeping him from being hired. He was let go from a position, and managed to find another position in the same company, making much less (and he wasn't making much to begin with) He works for a really terrible security company that treats its employees horribly. He was told by a temp agency 'We don't hire your type' - and I didn't know what they meant until I did a bg check on him.
I want to help him clean up his record so that he can get hired at a better job. But, we can't afford to spend a lot of money on a lawyer. I was hoping I could file the forms for him. (I don't have a legal bg, but I do deal with Federal Regulations) but it's hard to do this since I can't even find the forms to file.
thanks,
Susan
