Alright, so Im 16, almost 17, and Ive wanted to get emancipated for a long time. I never really pursued it because I didnt think i had a chance. Recently, My dad got semi- abusive and told me my ass was out of there and he was going to emancipate me. Im excited, but i dont know if a judge will grant it. I do have a place to live, at my boyfriends house. I know that my dad gets money from social security because my mom died, and im not sure if i get that money if i get emancipated. Regardless, Id be getting a job ASAP, the only reason i dont have one now is because my father wont allow it. HE has kicked me out on multiple occassions and i have run away too. The only reason I am staying there is because the law says I have to.

It is not for the purpose of living with my boyfriend.
Me and my father do not get along, we only live together because we are forced to. He is semi-abusive (honestly, hes mostly talk though), and he has zero pareting skills. Ive only lived with him for 2 years, and everyday things get worse. I used to have straight a's and be a great kid, but after living with him, my actions and grades have gotten worse. I know a judge wont be too pleased with that but yeah.
My dads the one that wants me emancipated now because he doesnt want to be responsible for me, and i told him a judge wont grant emancipation on simply that basis, but my father is kind of crazy. I need out. Hes verbally abusive and become physically abusive (which is why i use the term "semi-abusive") -

You don't want to live with your parents. Your parents don't mind if you move out. He wants me out and I want out

Well thats why I was asking, to see if it is just a waste of my time and my fathers time. I would think that if i dont want to be there, and he doesnt want me there, and im better of not being there, a judge would grant it. But thats just my thoughts.

Get the job first! No judge will gant such a petition on "I plan to get a job ASAP!" Just so you know approx less than 1% of all petitions are granted.

Im aware that not many petitions get granted, my councilor informed me of that. she also pointed out that most cases are where the kid is a druggy or just rebelious and wants out and the parent says no.
Just out of curiosity, how do i go about getting a job when my dad wont let me, but he wants me gone? because thats the only thing holding me back.
Plus, I believe I get the,i believe, 600 bucks a month from social security if im emancipated. My mother passed on so my "legal garduian" gets like 600 bucks for me, but id be my legal guardian, right? -
