I was at this store(BestBuy) New Jersey shopping around and I saw this guy looking at me like I was doing something I have a box at my hand so when I see this guy I put it back and start walking to the other side of the store, when this people including the guy that was looking at me told me that I can't leave the store because I was trying to conceal merchandise under my coat, I told them that I don't even have a chance to do any kind or shopping or nothing because of this guy action and keep walking to the exit, when the cops came in they accuse me of stealing, when they search me they found my working tools " I'm a radio installer" and they charge with Burglary tools and shoplifting, This happen back on January 2005 and I haven't get in trouble since them, What do you thing should I plead guilty to get this over and what kind of sentence could I get the Judge may consider all this time with out get in any kind of trouble. Because I'm tired of been on the Run.
A few points:
#1. Use a period every once in while. Do you realize that entire paragraph was one sentence?
#2. You are clearly leaving out a lot of elements to this story. No Loss Prevention Officer is going to stop you and call the police for "carrying a box around a store". If you simply selected merchandise from the shelf, with the intention of paying for it, you wouldn't have immediately ditched the box and split for the exit because "some guy was looking at you" (think about what you're saying).
#3. If you never concealed the merchandise in question (you were just carrying it around, right?), and are factually innocent of retail fraud, why in the world would you fail to appear for court? Why ask if you should "just plead guilty and get it over with"? Why would you plead guilty to a crime that you didn't commit?!
We'll be much more helpful if you'll simply admit what really happened:
-You concealed store merchandise into your coat at Best Buy.
-After discovering that you were being followed, you removed the merchandise from your coat, and tossed it on the shelf.
-The police were called (maybe before, maybe after you ditched the merchandise), and you were charged with retail fraud.
-For whatever reason, you failed to appear for court. There is a warrant out for your arrest.
Now, let me be the first to tell you that a judge is unlikely to be impressed by the fact that you "haven't been in trouble" for the 2-3 years that you've been a fugitive. Expect your failure to appear to impact you in a negative way when you finally get arrested (or turn yourself in).
Answer to the charges, accept your sentence, and stick to 'installing radios' (and carrying all of your 'radio installation tools' around with you at all times) as your source of income.
