Is it legal to record audio and video in the state of New York if the cameras are all known about, meaning not hidden?

I record video and audio during business hours and all the employees know that i do this. Is this in fact legal to do in New York? I heard some stuff on one of the tapes and was wondering if i would be able to use it.

any idea about if this is legal or not?

how much more specific do you need? Camera type, video quality, audio quality? I thought i was specific enough. I would love your help but when you say "be more specific" i dont really know what you mean without you being a little more "specific".

Context. You want to stick the cameras in restrooms? Forget it.

they are in the foyer, office area, warehouse area, stairwells, and outside the building(no sound outside). I think 16 cameras total.

And the game of 20 questions continues?
Video surveillance cameras in public places shouldn't be a problem. Audio is tricky, as it seems likely you are going to be recording people who have not consented to it, so I personally wouldn't record audio.

what if the recordings were of employees who sign something that states they are being recorded, for say security purposes? Be it ours or their security.
