    Parole Search in California
My daughter is on parole and was obscounding until today. She was picked up during a traffic stop and held. A parade of officers descended upon my house and even put a gun in my other daughters chest, knowing the parolee was in custody. Also, all the while my 8 year old sits frozen in fear. They said they were there for a "Parole Search" and she had given them permission to search her room. There was no parole officer. The little task force was a troop of officers (about 12or14) coming out of 4 different cities. Whats up with this? And they removed property from her room and impounded my car at the time of her arrest. They left no paperwork for me to find my car and no list of items taken. Is this legal?

Is it legal for them to search a parolee's room with her consent? Yes. They will presumably provide a copy of the inventory of items taken to your daughter, as the items were hers.

As for the car, you're obviously not telling us something, probably in relation to its use in your daughter's ongoing criminal activity. But you do know that the police have your car, so ask them about getting it back.

Thank you for your input on my questions. I did today finally find out who has my car. It took the Police Department 4 1/2 hours to locate it, but located it was. I also would like to apologize if I worded my questions wrong. I thought when I stated that my car was impounded at the "Time of her Arrest" suggested ongoing criminal activity. Again, apologies if I was not direct enough in my wording. God Bless.....
