Emancipation in Ohio
I am pregnant. I am 19, and the father of the baby is 16, we love eachother very much and are also engaged. His mother is very unreasonable and keeps us from eachoter often. She does not know that I am pregnant or that we are engaged. We live in the state of Ohio. I have a full time job, and he has a part time job. together we can afford to live on our own and support our family. under our circumstances is there any way my boy friend would be able to emancipate himself?

Ohio Emancipation Law
In Ohio, you can only become emancipated through lawful marriage, or through enlistment in the Armed Forces. If your marriage or service end before your 18th birthday, you are again subject to the custody of your parents.
