I Want To Drop Charges On My Fiancee

My boyfriend used to be strung out on drugs and now he is clean. But while he was strung out he stole some gold rings from my mother. Now we are back together and it has been almost 6 months since this happened. Now we want to drop charges because we do not want him to go to jail because me and him are engaged to be married. We are afraid to drop the charges due to the state pickign them up. How can i get around the state and drop the charges so that they can't be picked back up.. :confused:

If the theft was from your mother, she's the victim and you have no say in whether charges proceed. (Not that the prosecutor would have to drop the charges if you were the victim.)
