Juvenile Possesson of Paraphernalia in Maryland
I was arrested last night and charged with possession of marijuana (6 grams) and paraphernalia. I was cuffed and taken to the police station. I read that possession of cannabis in Maryland is punishable by 1000$ or 1 year incarceration. Since i am a minor they contacted my parents to come pick me up. They said since i am a minor i will get probation and if i am "good" throughout a certain time length then this incident will be wiped from my records. I have a few questions:
Usually how long after being arrested do they give you your court date? How much will it cost me?
    How long is probation?

Also they didn't say anything about attending any drug classes or community service, so will it still be a possibility to receive this as a further punishment? And lastly if you are arrested do they contact your school to inform them about this at all (note: this was not on school property or during any school activity/event). Thanks for your help

A local lawyer who handles juvenile criminal matters can advise you as to local court practices.

It is very possible to have drug classes, community service, and urine testing as part of your probation.
