    Pursuit of Fleeing Shoplifter
How far would you pursue someone once they've left your store if you only have reason to believe they stole something?

Would you pursue anyone if you only had a hunch, like saw them walk around the corner with something and walk around the next corner without it?

If you wrote down someone's license plate number that got away and reported it, how long would it take for them to track it down and find the person?

I've stopped shoplifting completely, but I still have questions and would like to know how it'd work.

    fight or flight LP
Most store insurances will not cover anything past the parking lot so a Lp is on their own past there. So it depends on how bad does the LP want the case.

More than likely they checked that corner to see if it was there or not but they would not chase you if they were not for shure that you had it.

Depending on how well the LP's relationshiop with the local police if it is real good you might not get a few blocks before being pulled over but most time its just for future referance. However they could turn it over to a police detective which would investagate the crime before making an arrest.
