Caught Shoplifting in New York City
This actually happened a while ago, but I was wondering whether or not something like this shows up on a criminal record or not.

It happened when I was 13, and I got caught shoplifting at a Duane Reade, and was sent to the local precinct, where they took down some information, Name, Date of Birth, etc. I waited until my father picked me up from the precinct, and a couple of days later, recieved a letter asking for $75.00, which I have paid.

Now, I was wondering if this shows up on a background check. Any help would greatly appreciated.

Did you go to court? If you did not go to court this suggest no criminal charges were filed and there would be no criminal record

No, I did not go to court. After I paid the fine, that was the last I heard about the situation.

You could ask the court for any records they have on you, just to be 100% sure so as to put your mind at ease about it
