    Emancipation Without Holding a Job
i'm 16, and currently in school, which the work takes up all my time.
my father talks to me and tells me a lot of things i believe teenagers shouldn't be told, like 'i dont want to have to pay for you but i have to' and stuff about basically not wanting me here.
    so question:
if i lived with a stable family, was attending school, yet didn't have a job, could i still get emancipated?
    (california)

    Re: question
    Are you working?
Do you make enough for self support?
Do you have a place to live (rent)
Do you have a plan for independent living?
Do you have a plan for continued education?

If the answers is no to any of these questions you cannot be emancipated

    Re: question
Nothing that I have seen in California's emancipation law requires a plan for continued education, although it's not an issue in the situation described.
