Minor Rear-End Car Accident Due To Two Drivers Moving Simultaneously
My neighbor's driveway and mine face each other. We were both exiting rear end first at the same time without seeing each other and we were going to drive on the same side of the road in the same direction. I was turning right (the lane was on my side) and he was turning left (so he crossed the street to get to the lane). He was just a second ahead of me, and when we collided, his rear door on the passenger side had a minor dent, and my rear bumper was scaratched on the driver's side.

It happend today on our way to work, so we quickly agreed to meet in the evening to discuss this.

This might be obvious for someone who knows the rules, but I have no clue if that's my fault or his.

    Please help!

Given those facts, it sounds reasonable to find fault on the part of both drivers.

    Thank you or your help!

I first spoke to someone who works for a car insurance company (not mine), so she said in NH a case like that would be considered a 50/50 fault. She said without going through insurance we could either agree to pay for our own damages or for each other's. Considering the fact that we both have high deductibles, the neighbor and I decided to pay each for own damages.
