Emancipation With A Place To Stay And Pending Job Applications, in North Carolina
Hey i was jsut wondering i am 16 years old and me and my family hardly ever get along..we are all the time arguing and i have tried my best to apologize but its no use anymore. my parents fight all the time and its hard for me to stay there. my parents sometimes get abusive when we argue and i cant take it..they kicked me out b4 and i have a younger brother who is 14 all i want to kno is if i can be emancipated for these reasons..theyve told me to leave and not come back b4.my fater is bareley ever at home and hwen he is we are arguing. i am not even there now because we got in an argument and my mother grabbed me by the throat and hit me in the face 5 or 6 times..i have witnesses who saw this happen..my mother and father fight alot and get abusive and i jsut do not want to live there anymore..i ahve a family who would take me in and i can live with them and they are willing to help and sign pappers over to take me in..i have my license and have applied for jobs and am still waiting on a reply to any of the 5 jobs i have applied to..i am still in school and have a B average and will stay in school and work..is this enough to get emancipated..please help me..

No, that is not enough to get emancipated. "I've applied for a job and am waiting to hear" is not going to cut it with a judge. Only "I have a job that pays xxx.xx per week, of which xx.xx goes to rent, xx.xx goes to utilities, xx.xx goes to transportation, etc. etc. and here are my hours and here is how my school hours work around them and here is when I do my homework" is going to have a prayer of making it.
