Minor Driving A 21-Year-Old to Buy Beer
I live in Iowa.
Please advise me on the following:
My 19 year old son drove a 21 year old friend to the store to buy beer. He then drove the friend back to the friend's apartment.
If my son had been stopped for a traffic violation, for any reason, would he also be in trouble for having transported alcohol in his car?
I think that is underage possession.
Thanks!

Your son is allowed to transport alcohol, since he's over 18 just as long as the containers weren't open there shouldn't be any problems.
More of a comment though on my part.
Re: Minor drives 21 year old to buy beer
Thanks,
What about transporting a sack of empty beer cans/wine bottles to the store for the 5 cent refund?
Sometimes he missing one and I find it in the back of the minivan.
I am afraid if pulled over that will be seen as an open container.
He not interested in drinking (so far..) but I'd like to know if this could be an issue.
Thanks again.

He should be careful not to miss any.
