Travel After Being Charged With A Felony

my son has been charged with a felony,
I am wonder if its possible for him to visit his grandfather out of state before starting court, is that legal?

Do his conditions lf bail or release prevent him from leaving the state without the court's permission?

He can always call the court and ask, but unless his release was conditional, he should be able to go.
