Unauthorized Use Of A Credit Card By A Relative
here is the situation, my brother used my dad's amex and he ended up trying to dispute just over $30,000. my dad did not know that my brother was doing this. to buy more time, my brother has been trying to dispute it again. now, my dad never signed a paper or confirmed that he accepted the charges, can he argue that against them? if so, what would happen to my brother? and they added on $11,000 for late payment since the charges were incurred january '06...please help.

Your brother needs to face the music. AMEX charges 30% interest so this is just going to get worse. Someone is going to have to pay and the sooner the better.

Yep - your brother needs to face the music. However, if your dad's name is the one on the AMEX, they are going to be coming after him for payment.

If your father wants to avoid this bill, AMEX will likely want him to file a police report and seek prosecution of your brother.
