My Mom Is Keeping Us From Seeing My Dad
Im 16 and i have a younger brother who is 9 and my mom is trying to keep us from seeing my dad because she thinks it will teach him a lesson to be a better father. She is a good mother, and he is a good father. Granted no one in this world is perfect. Everytime i get upset with my dad, she takes advantage of that and when he wants to see us, she says no. I don't understand because he has a right to see us. He has no special weekends or days he can see us, because he never got vistation rights. His visitations rights are he can see us whenever he wants or when he can. My mom decided that and said it was okay. Now, she doesn't want us to see him at all. Is she allowed to do that? Im confused and don't know what to do. :wallbang: Sincercly, Florida

If he doesn't have a visitation order set up throught the courts, you mom can legally say no to him. That doesn't make it right, but there has to be some kind of formal vistation agreement. He should go to court to get one. If there was a formal visitation agreement, he can take her to court for contempt.

k.. so not even if they agreed that he could see us whenever he wanted, and now she is saying no. Is that okay? Can she do that, or is he allowed to take her to court, or would he still file for visitation?

Is it "okay"? No. She is creating drama with her children and that isn't right. BUT! Dad needs to file for custody/visitation with the courts so that he has recourse if your mother withholds visitation. Until he does this he has no legal recourse.
This is something your father should be taking care of.

Your father should consider returning to court to formalize his visitation schedule.
