Will a Juvenile or Expunged Record Show in an Airline Background Check
I recently went through with a job interview with a major airline.
Everything went well and they gave me my drug test and fingerprint scan.
When asked the question "Have you ever been arrested" I answered with my underage drinking offense. However, I completely forgot about an arrest when I was 16. It was originally as a felony, but it dropped down to a misdemeanor disorderly conduct with a plea agreement. After I completed community service, it was expunged. I was told by my lawyer that I didn't need to disclose this when applying for a job.
Will this show up on my record? The FBI conducts the background check.
And in case it helps, I am in Wisconsin.
I don't want them to think I lied about it...
Thanks for any help.
Re: Airline background check...will my juvenile/expunged record show?
And in case it means anything, I was never fingerprinted. I know that some of the databases go by fingerprints.
Re: Airline background check...will my juvenile/expunged record show?
Wisconsin law provides for "The confidential exchange of information between a law enforcement agency and another law enforcement agency" pertaining to juvenile records. See Wisconsin Statutes Sec. 938.396.
Re: Airline background check...will my juvenile/expunged record show?
Hmm...
Would the fact that it has been expunged make it less likely to be shared?
I don't know what to do.
I already applied and interviewed. I basically got the job as long as the drug test and background check clear.
What would show up on the record? The Disorderly conduct that I was convicted of or the original felony?
This is so frustrating.
