Confronted After Giving Cashier My Email Address
    Illinois.

I am 26 and every day when I am on my way home I stop at a local Mcdonald's drive through and get a soda, hamburger, etc. Then sometimes later when I get done at the gym I stop and get a soda. This has been my routine for a long time. In any case, The girl that is always working the drive through is very nice and I thought quite good looking.

So Yesterday when I went through the drive through I gave her a peice of paper that said, "hey, email me, and gave my email address". She looked totally pissed. So I didn't say anything.

Later when I was done at the gym I went through the drivethrough as usual and she was acting really strange and got the manager. Now, know I never said a word to her. Well some kid came out of the restruant and got my license plate number. I was like????? So I called the manager. I said, I am there every day and I gave the girl my email address, innocent, no harm. She was like, she is 16 years old and you have her very scared. I was like, no I didn't know she was 16, she looks like she is 20, I said I was sorry and that there was no bad intentions. She was like, don't let it happen again.

Thing is, I don't understand why in the hell such a huge ordeal was made out of it, and my vehicle is a custom vehicle that is very noticeable and distinguishable and I live 2 blocks from this Mcdonalds. I never thought in a million years that such an issue would be a problem with giving someone your email address, and not even saying a word to them.

Now, I am scared to even go to that mcdonalds again. I don't want to get in any trouble, and I sure don't want some girls family seeing me in a parking lot of a store (cause of my vehicle is noticeable) where I live and give me a bunch of crap, or even have the police called on me.

Is there anything to this? Should I be worried? Advice / recommendations?

Also, NO I didn't leave ANYthing out, the above is exactly what happened, nothing more, nothing less.

    Thanks!

Re: Opinion / Help - Advice?
The girl was 16 and you frightened her by your actions, the manager is to protect her employees.
I would respect her feelings and avoid her at all costs - we are all responsibe for our actions.
You goofed up --even a person your age may have been frightened.
You are a stranger to her, I am sure her parents raised her to be leary of strangers.
I would go somewhere else for awhile, let it die down.

I just emailed Mcdonalds corporation the entire event that happened. I explained what happened, that it was innocent, and that I am offended to be treated like a criminal over a note with an email address on it. I also said I did not know her age and it was not anything done with bad intentions or harm. I am not sure if that was the best thing to do to contact Corporate but I felt I had to do something.

Why is that the worst thing to do?

You now have admitted to and Mc Donald's has documentation of your action. Your intent is meaningless at this point and cannot be proved. Where criminal charges are not likely a civil action or ban from Mc Donalds could result. You admit trying to make contact with this femaleof 16 years of age and now there is documentation to prove it! You came here for advice and before you got it you acted. Your best action was no action. Where its doubtful this will go any further if it does you added another nail to your coffin:wallbang:

Let's not get too excited here. It's not illegal to ask for a cashier's email address.

Hi, I never even asked her for her email address. I gave her a peice of paper with my email address on it and said to email me sometime.

Which spooked the under age girl. This prompted her Manager to jot down your license as he/she felt you a possible pedophile or otherwise dangerous person.

How giving someone your email address is beyond me to be accused of being a pedaphile or something. Its the same as handing someone a business card.

Contacting Mcdonalds corporate was the only thing I could think of doing to let them know what happened and how it was handled.

If I was calling the girl or following her or something like that, I could see someone getting spooked. But to get an email address off a customer you see every day for months, Spooked? or downright Drama?

As said its very doubtful anything will happen. I did not call you a pedophile I said her Manager may have thought you one or someone otherwise dangerous. It could be presumed your stalking her as you go there everyday! Contacting Mc Donald's when there was no action against you where you admit your actions was not wise. as you were told just stay away from there. Let this just go away! The Manager acted as I would have. He/she was protecting his/her employee who happens to be a minor!

Re: Confronted After Giving Cashier My Email Address
Don't take me wrong, I appreciate your advice and comments. I have been going to the same Mcdonalds for the last year at the same times every day, months before this girl even started.

Sadly, it is located like 2 blocks from where I live. So I go by it every day to work and home.

I could see your point on contacting corporate. I probably shouldn't of contacted them. I am wondering what they would do anyway?

I am just frustrated that I even gave her my email address if I would of known it would cause this kind of reaction. I just figured it gave her the option of emailing me or throwing it away.

Its just got me frazzled. I never have gotten into any trouble and don't need any.

:cool:Oh, cmmon. Nothing happened. You can go to McDonalds' for as many hanburgers as you want and it really was innocent. You did not threaten her, you did not offer her anything illegal. You are fine and stop tripping, be a man.

All OP did was raise some red flags on concern so unless there was more to then note he passed than said he need not worry but I would suggest you try another Fast Food stop
