Misdiagnosis And Medication Errors By A Hospital
My story is somewhat long so I'm just going to throw out the major points that I need opinions on.This all took place in Virginia.
-While in a local hospital, I was prescribed (and given doses of) two seperate medications that the hospital knew I was allergic to.
-After being advised of their mistake by a pharmacy, the hospital put me on an antibiotic that is never used to treat the condition I have.
-A gentleman claiming to be the head physicians assistant called my home and spoke in great detail about my medical care, my diagnosis, my treatment..all to someone other than myself. He went so far as to say I lied about having allergies (which I've had since birth)
-I've since found out that what the hospital diagnosed me with shouldn't be diagnosed without first doing x-rays and doing blood work, the hospital did neither.
-Because of my mistreatment,my misdiagnosis, and my mismedication..my condition has gotten so bad that now I'm at a high risk of losing my foot.
I just need opinions, I know I have a case because the hospital has already called twice to settle. The first they offered to waive any bills through them, the second was for an amount that barely covers my out of pocket expenses. They seem to be getting frantic so I need opinions on how to handle this without getting attorneys involved. Thank you for your time.

I would not advise you to do anything other than seeking the opinion of a medical malpractice attorney in your state.

Thank you for your response. I was really trying to avoid seeking legal counsel, but that seems where I might be headed. If anyone knows of any good medical malpractice lawyers in VA (I'm in Hampton Roads) I would appreciate it.
