This came up on a Broadway message board and none of us know the answer.
If someone says in writing (in a newspaper or on the Internet) that a person is gay, can the supposedly gay person sue? In my world it's not considered slander or defamation. I think it's different in England, and none of us know what the law is. We just know that somebody's boyfriend was arrested for telling the guy's in-laws that he is gay.

...and Nicole took a plea that sentenced her to 4 days in jail and (if I remember correctly) 3 years probation.
Ol' Linds is facing a whole boatload of prison time.

I'm not gay, but if I were, I would be horribly offended at the idea that just saying someone was gay was enough to sue someone over.
But then, I live in a state that actually believes that gay people have rights and allows them to marry. -

You are really saying this is how the "common" folk are treated for a SECOND DUI on a suspended license?
Carl, wanna chime in here? In California, what would I be looking at for getting pulled over drunk while driving on a suspended license that was pulled for an earlier DUI that had occurred recently? -
