Form N-400 Oath Of Allegiance
I'm helping my wife to complete this form, and I'm finding this late part a bit confusing. It reads:
Part 14. Oath of Allegiance.
If your application is approved, you will be scheduled for a public oath ceremony at which time you will be required to take the following oath of allegiance immediately prior to becoming a naturalized citizen. By signing, you acknowledge your willingness and ability to take this oath:
I hereby declare....
========
From reading this, one would discern that she should sign (she is willing & able) this part of the form, yet when reading the separate instructions sheet, it says in bold/italics:
Do not complete this part. You will be asked to complete this part at your interview
This seems contrary to what it says on the form where she is essentially being asked if she would agree to doing such. I seem to recall some discrepancies with the the instruction and/or the Guide, so I'm inclinded to have her sign Part 14. I seek your input though. What should we do???
Thank you

That seems pretty clear to me.

Mr. Knowitall

While that is clear, the instructions and Guide to complete this form do have errors in other areas. Havng such language on the form itself, would be most ideal; as opposed to 'please sign that you would agree' language which makes one feel that signing now (beforehand) is desired.
I will not have her sign, and include the reason why. Thank you.
