Seventeen-Year-Old Caught With Marijuana

OK, My son was arrested the night before and the bond states charges of poss of marajuana. he was the only kid arrested becuse he hid the drugs in his pants instead of leaving them in the car when the were pulled over.He had 1 ounce of the drug becuase they were all gonna use it. and there was 2 bags. He was not driving his friend was. My son was searched and they found it. there was also a scale in the van. it is his first offense . he is 17. by oine month. he was the only one arrested. What am I looking at here ?:(

Laws are different in each state, including whether this would be a juvenile or adult court matter.

OK I believe it is an adult matter and we are in michigan...

If he is charged with simple possession, he can seek "7411" sentencing (under MCL 333.7411), and if he completes probation without further incident he won't have a conviction for this charge. If he intends to go to college, he needs to have somebody explain to him that drug convictions can severely impair his eligibility for financial aid.
