Careless / Prohibited Driving in Arkansas
Son received ticket for careless/prohited driving while leaving a parking lot (private property) in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Pavement was wet, he drove through a puddle of water, left tire skid, truck slid to his right, but he regained control immediately and left. He was pulled over a block or two later by a young police officer, in training and given a ticket. My son knew the officer was behind him, did not purposely/intentionally try to peel out/skip tires. It was a mishap. I need to go to court and win this case.
Re: Careless / Prohibited Driving in Arkansas
From what you say, your son was driving too fast for the weather conditions, hit a pool of water, and temporarily lost control of his vehicle. That's usually all it takes to achieve a conviction on this type of charge. Your better approach may be to explore ways to get the charge reduced, or explore the possibility of traffic school.
