97 in a 70 in Michigan

I was recently pulled over doing 97 in a 70 going southbound on a Michigan highway. The officer was going northbound on the same highway when he tagged me.

I noticed him, realized how fast I was going and decided to slow down to 80 before he had a chance to get behind me.

I did a little homework and found the fine to be $150 and 4 points.

My question is, what are my chances, if any, of fighting this ticket; and how should i go about it?
I'm more concerned with removing the points then the fine.

I think you're wise to be concerned about the points rather than the $150. If you could come out of this with only a couple of hundred bucks out of your pocket, you'd be very lucky considering the insurance implications of your excessive speed.

You may be eligible for traffic school, depending upon your state laws, the judge's leniency and your past record. If you can possibly swing it, that would sure be the way to go. It seems unlikely you would prevail in court. Good luck!

The ticket was issued in different county, is there anyway i could possibly use that to my advantage? Even as an excuse to delay court dates for a while.

Is there a 'best' way to plead for a better charge?

Anything with even a minute chance would be greatly appreciated.
