Help With Emancipation At Age 15
Hi. i am kaitlyn and i live with my mother in illinois. i fight with my mother so much and i just cant stand it no longer. my father and i dont talk that much because anytime we do we get in an argument and he lives states away. i wish i could just get out. i love my mother and my little sister but i cant live her no longer. is there a way i can get out? and fast? but i still want to live here, and stay in this school. i babysit in the summer full time and if i try i can do well in school. i have been put on medicaine for anger, from fighting with my parents, and many others. if i could just live alone and away from all this stress people could see i am a good person, i just have too much stress with my mother. i am well with others, and if given the chance i can prove it to everyone. i just cant prove it if i am anywhere around my mother, with her its a fight everyday. and with my father i dont even think he cares, we have gone months without talking and before it was years. i dont care too much for him, and i wish not to be around him. my mother threats me that she is going to send me down to my fathers, and i dont want that, i have freinds and more family then most, and i cant just get up and leave i love them all, and i wish to stay near, i have lived here my whole life, and gone to this school my whole life. i have never been into drugs or alchol. and dont intend to neither. i see others around me and i dont like it at all. i just want away from the stress and out of my mothers house. PLEASE HELP ME GET OUT ITS TOO STRESSFULL!

You can see the Illinois emancipation laws here. You must be at least sixteen to bring an emancipation petition in Illinois. Among the other facts you must establish to emancipate, you must show to the court's satisfaction that you are "a mature minor who has demonstrated the ability and capacity to manage his own affairs or (ii) a homeless minor who is located in this State; and [that you have] lived wholly or partially independent of his parents or guardian."
