Its hard to say some get Civil Demand letter in days others weeks and some months later. It doesnt matter when you get it it has no impact on your criminal case

We saw in the general court records (not necessarily ours) (just checking other peoples shoplifting cases.

    Some say:
warrants issued from jail .....and others say....shoplifting citation

    What is the difference? Thanks.

A citation is a notice to appear like a ticket. Jail is just that jail.

So if someone receives a shoplifting citation, that means that they were not put into jail or arrested?

No if you were cited and released it means you were arrested given a notice to appear (citation) then released.
